Darling Cellars received the following excellent results in the Swartland Region of the SA Young Wine Show that was announced on Wednesday, 18th August

Champion Chenin Blanc: Darling Cellars Chenin Blanc unwooded

Champion Sauvignon Blanc: Darling Cellars Sauvignon Blanc unwooded

Champion other white cultivar: Darling Cellars Semillon (wooded)

Champion Natural Sweet Wine: Darling Cellars Sauvignon Blanc/Grenache

Champion Shiraz: Darling Cellars Shiraz (unwooded)

Champion Cabernet Sauvignon: Darling Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon (unwooded)

Cellar with most points in top 5 entries: Darling Cellars

This year 1162 wines have been entered by 86 cellars, from which 45 class winners and 73 gold medal winners were chosen.  These winning wines from the different regions will be entered into the SA National Young Wine Competition and national winners will be announced on 1st September.

Pieter Niel Rossouw, head winemaker at Darling Cellars, says:” I am super proud of the winemaking team. The regional results give a good impression of the past season. The collaboration between the producers and cellar staff are showing. We are all heading in one direction and that is to produce the best possible wine from the Darling area. It is gratifying to see that we have received awards across the spectrum of cultivars and wine styles. It shows the diversity of the Darling / Swartland area.”
