This year Darling Cellars rocked at the Rosé Rocks competition when both wines entered scooped up a double gold medal each!

‘Rosé Rocks!' is South Africa’s first dedicated rosé wine competition which seeks to recognise excellence in rosé winemaking and promote the SA Rosé category.Rosé is one of the fastest growing categories of wine in South Africa and internationally. In South Africa alone, sales have grown annually in double digits in the last few years.

Darling Cellars obtained a Double Gold medal in the MCC category for their Brut Rosé 2017. This bubbly with its beautiful salmon pink hue is exquisite on the palate and is produced from 100% Grenache – a grape varietal originating from Spain. The nose shows a fruity bouquet of strawberries, watermelon, pomegranate and candy floss. The palate has a fresh acidity that results in a clean dry finish. This stylish MCC will compliment any occasion.

The Pyjama Bush Rosé received a double gold medal in the competition for still wines. This wine, named after a wildflower that grows in the Darling area, was carefully crafted from grenache grapes and has abundance of succulent strawberry, luscious cherry and raspberry flavours on the nose with subtle strawberry aromatics on the finish.
